Tavli Tournament

The World Tavli Championship Challenge will host the 2008 Pinellas - Pasco Tavli Tournament on Thursday, June 19 at 4:00 PM at the Macedonian Society of Florida Cultural Center at 1895 Virginia Avenue, Clearwater, Florida.

Tavli players from everywhere in Pinellas and Pasco counties are invited to come and play in the final contest before the Summer begins and tha Tavli season ends. Entry fee is $15. First place prize will be $60. After the tournament, there will be a pizza party for all registered players. Good time will be enjoyed by all, so sign up to play and show us who is the best!

This will be the last event for the season before the World Championship Games in Greece in September. The World Championship Games will take place at the City Hotel in Thessaloniki on September 21, 2008.

Second Annual World Tavli Championship

The World Tavli Championship Challenge is announcing the Second Annual Tavli Championship scheduled for September 21, 2008. The Championship will be held at the City Hotel, Komninon Street, Thessaloniki, Greece. In addition to the title of World Champion there is prize of €500.

Last year’s champion was Panagiotis Gatzoulis from Pentalofos, Greece.

Tavli players from around the world are invited to register for the event, which will determine the World Champion for year 2008. Prospective contestants are invited to write requesting details and rules for the contest.

Early registrants will be given preference. This invitation is open to all Tavli players around the world. It is designed to foster, promote and elevate the game of Tavli, as a game of “Kings and Nobles”.
